Home Adopt or Foster

All of our animals have come a long way. Some of them were rescued because of extreme sickness, some of them were abused, and some of them were just lucky enough to cross our path.

All of them are de-wormed, de-sexed, vaccinated and free of parasites such as fleas, ticks or mange.

In order to just spay or neuter the animals, and have them vaccinated, the average pet owner would have to pay anywhere from $NT 2,000 to NT$3,000. We ask for NT$2000 donation for all adopted animals we adopt out to help us recover the expenses related to de-sexing and vaccinating the animals, and we throw in a free microchip.

In other words, it's cheaper to adopt one of our animals than it is to rescue an animal from the street yourself. And it's a lot easier. Of course we think that rescuing an animal is better than adopting an animal, but not everyone is experienced or confident enough to do that. That's understandable, and adopting instead is a great middle ground, and it's just as helpful. It frees space at our foster center, it increases our resources, and from there we can just rescue another animal, and so on...

If you have any problems with the animal within the first ten days after you adopted him/her, (Health problems, training problems, etc.) we can make arrangements or you can just return the animal to us and we will reimburse the adoption fee in full.

You are also encourage you to just bring an animal home for a week as a trial period to be in a better position to decide if you want to adopt one of our animals. This is to assure that both the adopters and the animals are a good match.

We strive to find the perfect homes for our animals, and to provide adopters with animals well suited for their lifestyles and expectations.

Feel free to contact us anytime if you are interested in having one of our furry friend bring life into your home.

*UPDATE as of May 2012:

Although BARK has officially closed and we are no longer rescuing animals, we will be continue to hold a monthly flea market, on the 3rd Sunday of each month, at our regular location (Pet's World- 180 Boai 3rd road), until all the BARK animals have found forever homes. We raise funds for OTHER animal rescue organizations in Taiwan. If you would like to come help us out, that would be great! We need help setting up at 1pm and cleaning up at 6pm. You can keep up to date on any news/changes at BARK's Facebook page here:

If you are interested in fostering or adopting, we still have BARK animals in our care that need homes.
